Used glycerine for the tires after cleaning, it seems to hold up quite well, still black and shiny the day after! What does Oppo use to keep the wheels and tires clean? What should I use on the steelies?

I hate shiny tires, but love a clean matte finish. I love the Lucas tire/trim shine. Makes tires and any plastics on the ext of the vehicle look great. Doesn’t damage paint like other plastic refreshers.

Cool, do you think it’ll help to darken the plastic trim (at least partially)
back to black, or does it just protect whatever color is there?

yeah, i always have to do that when inserting links or pictures

I don’t have a problem with that, tbh. It’s fun to clean the car.

It darkens, yeah. The trim on our CX-3 is bleached a little, it really helps that. Applies really nicely

Thanks, I’ll try to get some here, or at least ask around for a Euro counterpart.

Protip that i got from detailers: use heat gun on greyed plastics, or hair dryer. It will revive blackness for few years.

I use Gtechniq T1 Tyres and Trim. Lasts weeks on plastic trim, and lasts the longest on tyres than I’ve seen of others. It’s non greasy after application, does not draw dirt, does not fling off when driving, easy to apply, if you want a more shiny look you simply apply another coat after ten minutes.
For the wheels, any good wax will protect them, acting as a sacrificial layer for brake dust, etc...

No way. Will try and report back

Only recommended this be done three times.
Each time it leeches out the oils from the plastic, each time making the plastic more brittle.
Three times in the plastics life is generally accepted as the plastic will still have some flexibility in it without cracking or tearing should there be any minor collision.

I just replied to the above.
Use with caution as your car is already of an age that the plastic has become brittle.
A general rule of thumb with plastics to tell if they are beyond hope is, if you get the plastic wet, that is what it'll look like when you apply a dressing to it.
